Dalí’s Museum.House in Portlligat: |

The Portlligat Museum-House was Salvador Dalí’s only fixed abode; the place where he lived and worked from 1930 until 1982, the year Gala died.
Salvador Dalí moved into a small fisherman’s hut in Portlligat attracted by the landscape, the light and the isolation of the place. Taking that initial construction as a basis, he created his house little by little for forty years.
The entire house can be visited: the artist’s studio, the library, private rooms, the garden and swimming pool.

The museum shows only a part of the private collection that Josep Albó i Juncà started to collect in 1998. His collection has more than 60000 pieces but for space reasons he just can show the best ones, up to 22000 tops. This collection is undoubtedly the most important in the world because of the high quantity of unique and exceptional pieces.

The best way to know the territory around Torroella de Montgrí: the massif, the Low Ter’s plain and the Medas Islands. The museum is placed in the old part of town, in a 16th century stately house called Can Quintana. It is also a tourist office and a documentation center.

It was opened in 1974, built on the ruins of the old municipal theater of Figueres and designed by Salvador Dali himself.
It contains works that describe Dalí’s career: from his earliest artistic experiences and his surrealist creations, to his latest works.

It was opened in 1982 and since then you can admire more than 4000 antique toys that belonged to people like Salvador Dali, Federico Garcia Lorca and Joan Miró.
