Marimurtra’s Botanical Garden was created more than 90 years ago by a German man called Carl Faust. He wanted it to become the headquarters of the International Mediterranean Station of Biology. It is now considered one of most interesting gardens in Europe. In the garden you can admire more than 3000 species and it has been declared a cultural wealth of national interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
In 1954 Rivière de Caralt created this botanical garden, which is among the populations of Blanes and Lloret de Mar.
It has the peculiarity of having adapted to the Mediterranean the typical tropical species.
More than 7,000 species of plants from all around the world, all of them identified.
